Custard Cake

A one bowl, no fuss, delicious cake. I got this recipe while waiting for my children to finish school. I saw a mother give her child a piece and it looked delicious, so I asked her for the recipe. I bet you can't stop at one slice!

    This makes a huge cake that's absolutely delicious! Followed the recipe ingredients exactly (real butter, not substitute) and it cooked beautifully but I did cover it with a loose sheet of baking paper once it was golden brown to stop it from darkening more. Thank you for sharing.

    Followed recipe exactly using real butter and semi skimmed milk, perfect. Baked it in a 22cmx27cm rectangular tin, took 1 hour 5 mins.

    Recipe was really oily from the butter. Anyone else experienced the same?
